Barbora Fastrová

CHAOSMOSIS

For her solo exhibition at Šopa Gallery, Barbora Fastrová presents CHAOSMOSIS – an introspective and fragmented look into the workings of the human body. Raw and disassembled, the work focuses on the body as unfinished and ever-changing, as excess and mutation come to the fore.

Barbora Fastrová’s (b. 1988, lives and works in Prague) processual work often acts as a translation from story to object. The stories she tells touch on current world affairs, but only through her personal experiences of friendship, love or attachment to a place. She graduated from the Studio of Photography at The Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in 2015. Her most recent solo exhibitions include Cheap Art (with Johana Pošová) at GAMU, Prague (2018), In happy towns in hinterland, Polansky gallery, Prague (2016), Brother (with Johana Pošová), Syntax, Lisbon (2016), and In my country… in Galerie Fotograf, Prague (2015). She has recently participated in group exhibitions in Foothold, Polignano a Mare (2018), FUTURA, Prague (2017), GfZK, Leipzig (2015) and The National Gallery in Prague (2015).
