Miriama Kardošová

COUNTRY THAT OWNS

Miriama Kardošová will present a small-format painting series in the Šopa Gallery, which are a post-processing output of semi-improvised private events. Painting as a medium remains the basic means of expression, the art of action (performance) is the equivalent of expression, gesture, musical expression, which Kardošová uses also in the painting medium. By connecting a performative sketch, a moving (digital) pre-image with the commodity of a hanged painting as a final and material artefact, the author achieves a synergetic effect. Kardošová primarily deals with topics that touch on hitherto untapped aspects of the body and carnality, her own ontology and Alter Ega, which she explores through visual culture in different social stereotypes or gender positions.

Miriama Kardošová (1988) represents the young generation of Slovak artists. She graduated from the Studio of Contemporary Painting at the Faculty of Arts in Košice and the Studio of Intermedial Confrontation with academic painter doc. Jiří David at the VŠUP in Prague.

Exhibitions of this gallery are supported by Slovak Arts Council. Slovak Arts Council is the main partner of the project.
