(RE)CYCLE YOUR PORCELAIN

The pilgrim, on their journey, focuses on their breath and each step, exploring and recording with their senses all the images, sounds, and scents… all of this is stored in the map of their inner world, a place from which they draw strength and inspiration… bringing forth fruits for the outer world. Each of us enriches it with our uniqueness and unrepeatable essence. This process is as natural as breathing in and out. And it’s the same with human creativity… It has always been a part of us, and it’s up to us whether we awaken it.
One way to practice and awaken creativity can be through the recycling of old objects and materials, such as porcelain. In many households, there are unused plates, cups, bowls… They carry with them history, a story, and maybe a design that doesn’t quite suit you. Together, we will breathe new life into them, a new story that will remind you of the pilgrim’s motto: THE JOURNEY IS THE DESTINATION!
The workshop includes playful exercises to awaken creativity, to connect with and focus on porcelain as a medium, to search for a personal story—storytelling, discovering skills you didn’t even know you had—working with stains, pigments, glazes and their application, painting, splattering, pouring, dipping… and other techniques you invent and transfer onto the porcelain pieces you choose (3 pieces). All material will be available. At the end of our journey, everything will be tested by the fire of the ceramic kiln. I look forward to our shared pilgrimage.
