Katarína Hudačinová
INTER — INTIMACY
Exhibition opening: 22. 3. 2019 / 19.00 hod. Exhibition's duration: 23. 3. - 16. 4. 2019 Exhibition's curator: Michal Jalůvka
Katarína Hudačinová’s exhibition at the Šopa Gallery presents photographs that are mainly created during long hours of development. The artist validates a hypothesis – that as long as there is silver in the photosensitive layer of the photographic paper, it is possible to transform it step by step into a mirror surface. Final works sometimes become a mirror which reflects the surrounding reality and thematizes its relationship and depiction. Other times the photographs capture the process of sedimentation, which is written in the form of layers and lines on photographic paper. The installation creates conditions for the beginning of an intimate relationship between the work and the viewer. The exhibition raises questions about the nature of the medium itself, but also about aspects of temporality, interactivity or new possibilities that the perception of such photographs brings.
Katarína Hudačinová (1986) graduated from the Graphics and Experimental Studio at the Faculty of Arts of the Technical University in Košice and is currently studying at the Studio of Photography at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. Within the medium of photography, she focuses mainly on her object and installation overlaps.
